This year, Children Now is aiming to invite 750 children between the ages of 6 and 8. The events taking place in December will bring children from Montreal, Trois-Rivières, and Quebec City together for a day filled with childlike wonder and celebration. In Montreal, the event will be held on December 8th at the Centre des congrès et banquets Renaissance, and in Quebec City, the event will be held on December 15th at the Hilton Hotel.Children will begin the day by stepping into a wonderland, with banquet halls specially decorated for the occasion. Throughout this magical day, the children will be entertained by professional clowns, and our team of volunteer fairies, elves, and mascots will help bring the celebration to life, making sure the children feel cared for and celebrated. The children will sing, dance, and take part in arts and crafts workshops. They will eat as much as they’d like at the delicious hot buffet. Then, Santa Claus will make his grand entrance on his sleigh, pulled by his nine reindeer — the guest of honour bearing an abundance of gifts. His arrival is sure to garner a great deal of excitement, as it always does. Santa and his elves will distribute numerous Christmas gifts to each child, including both toys and necessities like warm winter clothing, school supplies, and more — gifts that not only add to the excitement of the day, but also provide the children with items they can enjoy and use throughout the year. Reaching our goal of 750 sponsored children is only possible through the generosity of our donors and sponsors. Your support helps us offer children from our communities a day dedicated to their joy and well-being while also providing them with practical gifts. The sponsorship of a child for the Christmas Show includes decor, hot meals and desserts, animators, mascots, shows/entertainment, arts & crafts workshops, Christmas gifts and transportation to and from the hotel. Below are examples of different sponsorship options and what they provide for the children: $25 - $65: Buffet and arts and crafts workshops $75- $125: Gifts, buffet, arts and crafts workshops, and decor $150: Sponsorship for 1 child* *Every additional $150 pays for the sponsorship of another child. **All donations are combined to offer every child the complete Christmas Show experience. In addition, for every donation that we receive, a portion will go directly into the Leadership Now program; a program that aims to provide youth with sustainable leadership skills so that they may develop the necessary tools they need to have success in their future social, civic and academic lives. Some of the core-components of the program are; the importance of teamwork, leadership, emotional intelligence, and decision-making. A wide variety of topics are covered in the program including bullying, violence, street gangs, school dropouts, health, the importance of sports, the environment and how to succeed in high school.
