Back to School - Equal Start

For most children, the start of the school year is synonymous with new school bags, books, school supplies, and even clothing. Yet for many children, these back-to-school essentials are not a given. Financial hardship can make it difficult for families to afford the supplies their children need to feel prepared for the year ahead. While some may receive hand-me-down items from relatives or friends, many begin the school year without the basic tools needed to learn and thrive.

The objective of our Back to School - Equal Start Program is to provide children from low-income households with a full set of school supplies and resources so that they are able to get the most out of what school has to offer, and ultimately increase their chances to persevere and succeed in school.  It is through the collective efforts of the community that we are able to help create equal opportunities and foster a brighter future for all children, regardless of their circumstances. Therefore, once again this year, we will equip 500 underprivileged children with a full set of supplies including school bags, lunch boxes, pencils, crayons, erasers, binders, notebooks, and resources to develop empowerment and leadership skills.
