Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a beautiful winter landscape in one of the prettiest regions of Quebec; a dream-like setting with mountains, trees covered in snow and fresh air. That is exactly what you can offer to children from underprivileged areas who only see asphalt and concrete day after day, season after season! These youngsters can only dream of escaping the city for a few days to discover and fully appreciate winter's pleasures as most fortunate children do.

Snow Camp

Learn More

The Snow Camp represents an opportunity for underprivileged children to make new friends, breathe fresh air and gather precious memories from this stay. More than ever, children need our help for guidance toward a better future. During this camp, we give the children winter clothing such as boots, scarves, hats, mittens and a sleeping bag to keep them warm all winter long. All these items as well as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, books, games and more will be given to them during their stay thanks to the help our generous sponsors.

This winter camp is a fun and educational way for underprivileged children to experience what privileged children do on a regular basis. For three days, more than 80 children will have fun in nature doing activities that are sure to satisfy their need for adventure and fresh air. The children, aged between 10 and 12, will have a memorable time lodged in an extraordinary rural setting with beautiful facilities. They will receive three hot meals and snacks daily. Their stay will be filled with fun activities that many will be experiencing for the first time such as tubing, skating, sledding, playing broom ball, making snow castles, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, making camp fires, winter camping, hiking and identifying animal tracks.

This year, for children residing in Quebec City, the Snow Camp took place from February 4 - 6, 2020 at the Centre de plein air le Saisonnier in Lac Beauport. For children from Montreal, the Snow Camp took place February 25 - 27, 2020 at the Camp Grandpré in Otterburn Park.

On behalf of the children, we sincerely thank you for your generosity. Without your help, Children Now would not be able to offer such a wonderful activity to a more than deserving group of underprivileged children. The Snow Camp allows them to enjoy the pleasures of winter and live unforgettable moments they otherwise never would have experienced. Because of our collective effort, they will henceforth have magical childhood memories. Help us carry on this marvelous tradition!
