CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

• Discuss the present situation surrounding current reproduction technologies and adoption – the practices and the risks.

• Discuss the ethical issues surrounding the new techniques of reproduction and adoption and how to proceed while respecting the rights and best interests of the child.

• Discussion about the identity of the child, i.e., filiation, the search for one’s origins, the integration of the child into the family, the challenge of integrating children of an ethno cultural origin that is different from that of the adopting parents.
